Bradley Road Park Tree Planting Project

In 2022 and 2023, Bay Village planted 120 trees in Bradley Road Park with the assistance of a Cuyahoga County Healthy Urban Tree Canopy grant. Half of the trees were installed in the fall of of 2022, and half were installed in the spring of 2023.

The trees planted include 8 different species, all but one are native, chosen for survivability in northeast Ohio. The city partnered with Bartlett Tree Service to select the types of trees to be planted to ensure diversity of species and suitability for the climate.

During planting, the city amended the soil with Terra-Sorb and Tree Saver Mycorrhizea to increase survival rate. As part of the grant program, the city worked with Holden Forests & Gardens to measure and log the new trees to study the effectiveness of the soil inoculation.
